PLEX is a browser-based isometric city builder where every player owns an island, zones districts, balances ecology and approval, and connects to a shared multiplayer hub. Mayors can play live with a wallet-connected account or explore offline in demo mode.
This whitepaper outlines the design principles behind PLEX — how cities grow, how players interact, and how the platform is built for long-term participation rather than short-lived hype cycles.
PLEX treats a city as a living system: population follows jobs and housing, industry resupplies materials, ecology and approval feed back into growth, and expansion unlocks new buildable land over time.
The goal is a persistent digital environment where strategy, creativity, and social interaction compound over weeks and seasons — not a disposable session-based loop.
Each mayor develops a personal island through interconnected systems:
Beyond the solo island, PLEX connects mayors through a shared hub plaza — a social layer for trade, discovery, and competition.
The in-game economy is designed to reward planning and trade, not infinite extraction. Industry generates materials required for construction; commerce and taxes fund the treasury; crowding pressure encourages expansion and housing when population outgrows available land.
Marketplace prices track city market rates, and the exchange desk offers instant NPC trades as a baseline liquidity layer. Resource balancing is an ongoing design priority as the player base scales.
Live mode uses Phantom wallet authentication for identity, save ownership, and reward distribution. Core city simulation runs off-chain for responsive gameplay; the chain layer handles verification and payouts.
PLEX is supported by a community token on pump.fun. The contract address is published on the homepage for transparency. On-chain elements complement — not replace — the city-building experience.
PLEX is built around durable engagement. Long-term growth matters more than short-term optimization. Systems are tuned so that expanding districts, serving citizens, and participating in the plaza remain meaningful over time.
Player interaction strengthens the ecosystem.
Trade, competition, and shared objectives create value that individual islands cannot generate alone. The plaza, leaderboard, and future cooperative systems are designed to reward mayors who contribute to the wider world — not only those who optimize in isolation.
PLEX prioritizes:
Gameplay systems are designed to minimize abuse while preserving accessibility.
PLEX aims to become more than a game.
The platform is designed as a persistent digital environment where players shape cities, economies, and communities over time.
Success is measured by engagement, creativity, and long-term participation.
